Sections · Section 05

No Walls

A field, and sound that has to be built.

On a field or a lake shore there is nothing to reflect from, so the whole sound field is built: towers, flown arrays, delay positions down the ground, and a get-out that takes it all away again. Ground conditions decide more here than programming does.

    Line arrays and delay

Delay towers exist because sound travels roughly 343 metres a second and a large field is longer than that in useful terms.

    Mud

Ground conditions decide more festival outcomes than programming does.
